I’m Shipping Up to Boston is playing on a blank screen
The light comes up ever so slightly to reveal the scene….
It is one of a smoke-filled, poorly lit room
A man is sitting on a couch facing away from the camera, the camera moves towards him and finally you can see his hands on a coffee table holding something.
He moves his head slightly and you can see more of the object in the man’s hand..
It’s an unsigned I.C.W. contract
Man: They say a man doesn’t truly know who is he until he faces adversity. When a man has his back up against the wall, that’s when he either runs away from conflict or he excels. That a person doesn’t know who he is or what he is made of until those moments.
I tend to agree.
I had a lot of power, a lot of fame, a lot of wealth. I had the apartment in the sky in New York City. I had the supermodel girlfriend. I had a multi-national business that I ran.
I lost it all
He leans down towards the coffee table and almost puts his head on it… you can hear the sound of him snorting something
Man: Here I am now, in Boston - a city of working-class heroes. I came here to re-build my life from the ground up.
I used to think that no one worked. No one cared enough to pick themselves up to the level I was at. Now that I was forced to start from the absolute bottom and got myself back up to a position of wealth and power I realized one thing…
I was fucking right
I may not be all the way to where I belong but in a few short years I went from the bottom of the barrel to a place most men only dream of.
I am sick and tired of people saying they are doing the best they can. Those type people are lazy, self-loathing losers and to me, nothing better than a rung on the ladder to my return to greatness. I may be 90% there but I am not quitting. One thing I need to return to my position of power – the ICW World Heavyweight Title. I will stop at nothing to get that gold in my possession.
So ICW, it’s time to take sides. You are either with me and my quest to take this title and run this place or against me.
I’ll be seeing you very soon.
The camera begins to fade to back as the song picks up volume as it’s fading away you can hear…
Man: Babe- get me my pen, I need to sign this!
