Name: Babel’s Outcast, Nero Wirtz
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 175 lbs
Birthdate: 3/18/1988
Birthplace: Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Backstory: Nero Wirtz was a run of the mill member of the Gothic subculture, working as an assistant manager at Hot Topic. However, one day earlier this year, his life took a dramatic turn. On his birthday, Nero was enjoying a quiet evening drinking wine coolers and reading Sylvia Plath by candlelight. At 3 AM, he was possessed by a demon from hell called Hezior. Hezior instructed Nero that he must bring the ways of evil and spookiness to the wrestling world, in order to help Goths gain mainstream acceptance. Hezior’s poor attitude and work habits were the reason for this lousy assignment. He hasn’t learned his lesson, however, as Nero’s possession is sporadic as Hezior is often buying cigarettes, scaring small children, and watching Judy Garland movies. So, sometimes Nero speaks in his own voice, and sometimes he speaks the disembodied voice of Hezior.
Alignment: A heel. Nero is generally rude and condescending to people who do not embrace his lifestyle. Anyone who cheers for him cheers because he’s pathetic.
Entrance: Nero’s theme music is “Summer Breeze” by Type O Negative. Nero is unaware of both the original Hall and Oates version and the tongue-in-cheek campiness of the Type O Negative version. The lights go black as the song begins to play; the arena is lighted only by the floorlights along the ramp. Nero is always introduced as accompanied by Hezior.
Appearance/Ring Attire: Nero has very pale skin and shoulder length black hair. He wears black contact lenses. He is quite scrawny. He wears eye liner and black fingernail polish at all times. Making his way to the ring, Nero wears a black trench coat which he removes. His ring attire is a black full body suit with an inverted crucifix on the back.
Wrestling Style: Looking at his measurements, Nero obviously is not the strongest guy in the world. However, when he became possessed by Hezior, the demon brought with him an impressive knowledge of technical wrestling. Nero uses his mat skills to make up for his lack of strength. He doesn’t mind going aerial or hardcore, but avoids brawling at all costs.
Moves: Knife edge chop, arm drag, hip toss, crucifix pin, drop toe hold, side Russian leg sweep, DDT, vertical suplex, front suplex, fisherman suplex, northern lights suplex, ankle lock
Finishing Moves: Confutatis Maledictus and Quia Sumus Legio are Hezior’s finishers, while Absurd Agony/Dark Delusions is Nero’s.
Confutatis Maledictus-A submission finisher, usually set up by an arm bar take down. Nero will take his opponent down by the arm, stick the arm between his legs and twist backward so he is facing his opponent’s feet. He will then pull the near leg into a half crab, so the move puts pressure on the opponent’s elbow and knee/quad.
Quia Sumus Legio-Running double knee face buster-he runs at his opponent, grabs his head, and jumps, bringing his opponent’s head into his knees.
Absurd Agony-A superkick, the set up for Dark Delusions.
Dark Delusions-A top rope splash.
