Cut to a darkened room in an unknown location...somewhere in the United States. A dreary, yet determined, man sits in the center of the room holding a remote in one hand, a bottle in the other...
The man...Seamus O'Malley. Tattered and beaten from the events that transpired what seems to him only moments ago. In front of him sits a small television set, a VCR, and a crude copy of a recording of the previous night's Mayhem main event.
MONOLOGUE...
There it is again...how could this have happened?
Seamus rewinds the tape a bit, and plays it again
How could I have lost control in such a way? Is this even me in the ring? It's as if I don't even recognize MYSELF!!
He rewinds the tape again. Seamus has been watching himself and Murdoch in the ring interfering in the main event. More specifically, the few moments in which Harrison ducked his punch, causing him to nail his own partner in the face which led to the both of them being taken out...
See? There it goes again! Had I the presence of mind to hold back my fist for only a moment, the outcome would have changed completely! It all started with this! (holds up his half-empty bottle of booze) But no more! A clear head is all I shall be competin' with henceforth...
Seamus stands up from his chair, looks curiously at the bottle he's been clutching in his hand, then flings the bottle furiously at the wall, shattering it...
Never again shall the beast cloud my judgement! It's been far too long and I've triumphed over far too many evils to be held down for such a reason... I was the prodigy! I was the next big thing! That may have been over ten years ago, but there's no reason today can't be my day of redemption.
Seamus begins to pace around the room...angrily...before finally heading toward the door, then outside. He fumbles around in his pockets and finds a set of car keys
Where the bloody hell did I get keys? I haven't owned a car since...since.....it happened...
In his drunken stupor, Seamus fades into what can only be described as a daydream. Outside of what he believes is a motel room in what he hopes is the United States, since that's the last place he remembers being, Seamus looks up at the stars and begins to reminisce...
You had it all, ol' chap. Youth, talent, and above all a beautiful woman and a wonderful lil' boy who supported you through it all. LWN was your conquest...your one shot to prove to them all that they had yet to see a true star.
But then...as quickly as it all came...it faded. Because of......HIM. He's here, ya know. You've seen him, Seamus. Though your liquor-obscured mind has tainted your memory as well as your percecption...you've seen him. You know, had it not been for that fateful night...Lord only knows what the future would've held...the sky was the limit...the world was ours...but then (runs his fingers over the steel plate in his forehead) ...then it happened.
In the blink of an eye, the world changed. He took from you the only things that had ever TRULY mattered to you, Seamus. And now he's here. Right next to you...might as well be, anyway...AND YOU DON'T EVEN SEEM TO SEE HIM!!!
Seamus runs back into the motel room, slamming the door behind him so vigorously that it unhinges and falls to the outside...
LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO YOURSELF!!! (standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom) You had it all, Seamus, not only at home, but in the ring as well! You lost focus for an INSTANT, and in that instant...tragedy.
Seamus grabs the mirror, rips it from the wall and smashes it into the opposite wall
Look what's become of you know! (looks again at the television, still playing the tape) Not even a wrestler anymore, much less a contender!
It's due time we put a stop to these poisonous habits of yours, Seamus. If Murdoch isn't along for the ride, then so be it... He knows why you came back five years ago, and he knows that reason still hasn't changed. (looking, now, directly into the camera) This message goes out to all of you, including my partner...
Times are changin' mighty fast, now. You all seem to look at me as a sideshow...hell, I've barely amounted to that these past few years.
It ends now. My time is NOW
You either get on board this train, get outta the way...or face the consequences...
To be continued...
