Here are some frequently asked questions regarding ICW.
What is ICW?
ICW is a electronic wrestling federation, also known as an E-Fed. The general idea of an E-Fed is like a fantasy football league. Only we take it a step further. In an E-Fed, you pick a character and you roleplay as that character, in this case, a wrestler. You post "stories" or "promos" or "roleplays" that design your mission statement, and tell us what's going on. There are shows that feature the wrestlers that further the storylines and overall direction of the E-Fed. A lot of E-Feds are based under real wrestlers, I.E. WWE.
ICW is an E-Fed where you must use original creations. You can borrow from any media to create your character descriptions, but you cannot just be a wrestling character. (other media characters, maybe). So, you couldn't be The Rock in ICW, unless your "The Rock" was entirely different from Dwayne Johnson and only shared the name.
What should I list in my character description?
Name, height, weight, moves list, finishers(very important) what your character looks like, his or her goals, their alignment (heel or face) and a little bit of history.
What should I talk about in Roleplays?
Whatever you want, as long as they're not entirely random. Good RPs should suit the purpose. Talk about whats happening with ICW and your character, or your character's mission statement. Flashbacks are acceptible. Read some roleplays first if you're unsure.
Other people's posts look fancy.
Yours can too, use the UBB codes. You see the buttons at the top of your Create Post page. This is not a requirement. You do not need to use bold or italics when writing a RP or Character Description(CD).
What if I'd like to contribute to shows, or write matches?
ICW Shows are presented in what I like to call Dudley-O-Vision. The announcers are in bold: Example:
Instead of
Jim Ross:
it's
Jim Ross:
And the action is always in italics
Like this.
I usually use bold and italics for winners and signature moves as well.
If submitting a piece to a show, include the tags:
[b[ [i[ Of course substitute the second [ for the closing ]. Play around with the codes using the buttons.
Where did ICW come from?
There was a wrestling news website, www.latestwrestlingnews.com
And the LWN had a discussion forum. In the forum it had an area for "Efed" which was relatively new to discussion boards.
Out of that grew several offshoot Efeds due to LWN specifically sucking.
ICW, EWA, EFWO, HCW, MWF, CHF and so forth.
ICW was started by Hey Kid, Reno Starr, ScottiePP7 and believe it or not Healius. Of course Healius left soon to return back to LWN. ICW was handed to Johnny Q. Public and Dave Dudley, and then solely Dave Dudley. Notable ICW bookers include Andrew Leigh. Basically since Dave Dudley took over, he has been the constant in ICW booking, running almost everything himself.
The LWN booking team had several people but most notebly in my opinion, Andrew Leigh, Hoyakillah, Healius.
the Evolutionary Wrestling Alliance(EWA) was founded by Evolution. Took over by Healius. Myst, Hoyakillah and Reno Starr/Archangel were prominent bookers.
Hardcore Championship Wrestling(HCW) was JPacs fed. This is where ScottiePP7 came from.
Milennium Wrestling Federation(MWF) was Nonz's creation.
E-Federation World Order(EFWO) was started by Hey Kid and a afew others. Notable bookers: Phil Flate, Tommy Jacobs, Brian Oxenreider, Sanctum Nocturna.
the Crack-House Federation(CHF) of course was Lone Wolf's disaster.
All these have folded, and ICW remained the victor of the "Efed wars". Even though ICW had crumbled and crumbled it's the only thing around still, in any capacity.
How do I join ICW?
Register a free account and start posting. Post your Character Description in the proper forum,
then you can start Roleplaying.
A good way to start out would be to introduce yourself in character, or maybe call someone out to challenge them.
You can register with any name you like, and then change your display name in your profile under "modify profile".
If you register as "bob" and don't change your display name it will be done for you, to change it to your wrestler's name. So make it easier on yourself.
Work in progress...(if anyone else has any suggestions let me know!)
