Amarantha
Faction:
Tag Team: The Hawk and the Eagle (w/Kallista) (currently...'inactive' as a team)
Titles Held: Tag-Post Championship Titles, w/ Kallista.
Physical Description:
She is rather small of stature at 5'3, but her height is the least of her worries given the amount of time she obviously spends in the gym. While quite muscular, particularly her arms and legs, given the fine bone structure of her face, and her long, dark auburn hair, she is defintely female, though one could not go so far as to say effeminate. Her skin is extraordinarily pale, a contrast highlighted by her piercing emerald gaze. Amarantha has several tattoos, the most noticeable being the circlet of thorns around her neck, at the end of this resting a small up-side down ankh at the base of her throat. The second visible tattoo would be the large intertwining thorns working their way down her spine, and disappearing into the line of her pants.
Ring Attire:
Amarantha's outfit displays her firm physique to perfect advantage, and whilst she does not use her feminine whiles like many other wrestlers, she's well aware of the advantage her sex gives her over certain opponents. Her upper body is clothed in a black almost transparent fishnet material which leaves little to the imagination, including the black lace of her lingerie and her various tattoos. The suit disappears into the waistline of the dark crimson leather pants, which in turn ride downwards to her thick, and rather sturdy leather boots.
Wrestling Style:
Her style varies (see below). For the most part a very strong technical wrestler, with a great agility that helps her adapt to situations as they come. Due to her body-weight, despite her short height, she does not use many aerial manuevers. Amarantha has never, and probably will never submit in a match. She seems to find great focus in pain, and as such does not submit to it. In her frequent weight training, she has been known to push herself so far that she actually passes out - as such, the idea of giving into pain, something she often uses as a tool, is inconcievable.
Character Concept:
Amarantha always speaks quietly, rarely raising her voice, her tone ranging from cold and steely, to intimate and warm. However, her eyes never waver in the slightest, giving the feeling that she is merely saying words with the calculated intention of having the desired effect, and does not actually feel anything. She seems to take pleasure in the pain of others, be it emotional or physical - and any who start a fued with her had better be prepared to face the sharp side of her tongue.
Theme Music: Starfuckers Inc, Nine Inch Nails
Signature Moves:
End of All Things: Crucifix powerbomb. (obviously not against *huge* opponents)
Road to Hell: Downward Spiral
Journey's End: A nasty leaping spear, usually from the top or middle turnbuckle, launching herself at an opponent, her shoulder driving into the abdomen and winding them. This too has been performed, insanely enough, from the top of a ladder before.
Breaking Point: Back Breaker Hold (Bow and Arrow)
Corruption : Drop toe-hold into an Ankle lock submission.
Death From Above: Somersault guillotine leg-drop from the top-turnbuckle, essentially a modified Fame-ass-er
Rise and Fall : This is a combination manuever, which really comes in two parts. Often Amarantha has a knack of taunting her foes into a rage, and rushing her. When this occurs, she halts their momentum, and redirects them back towards the ropes, performing a Front Rope Suplex . Whilst her opponent is reeling from the shock of this, she uses her quickness, grabbing them from behind, and then with the strength that shows the benefit of spending many hours in the gym, she wraps her arms around their waist, locking in a German Suplex , sometimes up to as many as three times, before bridging into the pin.
Finishing Move:
Pleasure and Pain: Pedigree, she has had some insane matches, especially against the Rebels In which she pedigreed someone from the top of a ladder.
Entrance:
The lights go out and her entrance music hits, the rather quick industrial beat pulsing out into the arena.Words blaze across the EvoTron Carpe Noctem: Sieze the night. As the first lyrics hit, "My god sits in the back of the limosuine.." a bright white light floods the arena, almost blinding in its intensity, it flashes in an erratic fashion as Amarantha walks down to the arena slowly, her gaze locked ahead, before she climbs the edge of the ring, and pauses between the ropes, looking over the fans as if for her next meal.
Promo Style : Known for her innovative, if long promos, Amarantha tends to use her quick wit and scorn against opponents - more often than not making fun of their names, their moves, style of intellect. (See : De-evolution, Kottonball, Hex-marks-the-spot and Slushy
Reason for Wrestling:
Now...this is shrouded in mystery. Always fanatical about performing her best, and winning - these once pristine goals now seem to have merged with that of causing as much debilitating pain to her opponents as possible.
Previous Titles Held : LWN DVD Post Title, LWN TagPost Champion (Dark Covenant w/Lone Wolf)
History/Rivalries :
Amarantha has a background in law enforcement as a police officer. After her younger brother fell ill, she needed the money - and so with her martial arts training (shodokan karate) she was soon picked up by a wrestling scout. She wrestled in independent federations for a while, before being invited to join LWN. For a reason unknown to any, Amarantha does not use her martial arts prowess in the ring.. it helps with her general fitness and focus levels, but never yet has she used any of the vicious limb-breaking manuevers on an opponent.. Though perhaps with her new shift in attitude, and the aura of barely restrained violence which is so palpable one can almost taste it in her presence - this may change.
After first joining the LWN, Amarantha immediately set into motion a scheme for a partnership. Unbeknownst to the Rebels , she had private meetings with Lone Wolf luring him to her side. They formed a tag team, Dark Covenant , and had a heated rivalry with The Rebels - with Amarantha and Hexane having several vicious matches. When the MwO and Southern Gentlemen finally dissolved, the Dark Covenant stepped their game to the next level and joined the Hardcore Empire. Within all of these events, Amarantha always seemed to possess great drive, and she became more and more focussed on achieving victory, using it as a method to mask a weakness she seemed to feel within herself.
Amarantha's mental disintegration was well documented with a great number of personally introspective promos, and the discovery of the fact that she was regularly seeing a psychiatrist - for problems that for the most part, remain unknown. However, one thing that is for certain, her initial "background", and the death of her brother - may not have actually ever happened. Perhaps the future will reveal further depths that have not yet been explored, or perhaps they will remain hidden deep inside of her.
She always revelled in the dark side of her nature, her wrestling and her promos have always shown an inherent viciousness that cannot be tamed. Yet the only time she ever actually lost her temper, was when her business integrity, and the ability to seperate her alliance with the Hardcore Empire and her relationship with Myst were questioned. The infamous Dark Romantic and Amarantha had a very intense, and at times, incredibly romantic relationship during their time at LWN - yet for reasons unknown, and a rather lame excuse offered by Amarantha, the relationship ended suddenly. Rumours abounded about possible tension and jealousy over Kallista and Myst - but to this day, they remain unfounded.
After this time, Amarantha disappeared from the face of the planet, and was not heard of in any circles - be they wrestling or otherwise. What friendships she had formed within the 'biz, and away from the cameras - with many well known LWN wrestlers simply ceased to be. Yet now she has returned - and to what infamy. There is no telling what the future holds for this still young and talented wrestler. However, should the past be indication, her impact upon the EWA should be nothing less than devestating.
To be continued...
