I bought the trade paperback finale of Y: The Last Man and I was wondering what you guys thought of it, if you read it.
Personally Brian K. Vaughn makes me want to get back into comics. He's one of the best writers today and I think I should check out Ex Machina.
Is Ex Machina any good?

The first year of Ex Machina is amazing and the rest is alright but not quite as great. Its still worth reading, though. Vaughan is great and Harris is one of my favorite artists.
Y was great too, I actually thought the last couple arcs were really mediocre but the last issue was amazing and sort of validated the whole thing for me.
Vaughan also wrote almost all of Runaways at Marvel, which was excellent until he left the book.

Didn't Joss Whedon take over Runaways? Is his run not very good?

His run was really mediocre and took FOREVER. It just ended like two weeks ago.

Thats lame. Runaways was also a favorite of mine when I collected regularly. Pretty much any Brian K. Vaughn was, which is why I can't believe I haven't read Ex Machina.

Vaughan also did a really good Dr. Strange mini a year or two back that I liked a lot. He's supposed to be doing only creator owned books from now on so I figure he's probably gonna be starting something new sometime soon.

Vaughn is ok, at best. Y-The Last Man is good, but not as good as say Wizard says. I enjoy it. Ex Machina is a really smart book, but it lost a lot of steam.
Vaughn's best writing was his original work on The Hood, which Bendis uses now. And he had a really good run on Ultimate X-Men.

Vaughan's Runaways is my favorite thing he did easily. He was actually my favorite comic book writer before he left Runaways and Y and Ex Machina lost steam

I just finished the second volume of Ex Machina, and ordered the third volume. When does it lose steam, aka when should I stop reading?
And how did it lose steam?
Well?
Answer me!!!!

Ex Machina is a great read, especially when you take into consideration the entire story as a whole. On a monthly basis, I thought, it sometimes failed...but as a whole in collections, really good. I like BKV's stuff, he just needs to do more. Pride of Baghdad was good
